Bihar, reviewed and discussed the steps being taken to tackle the "Flood and Drought Relief" with
District Collectors of all districts over Video Conferencing Network
Shri Sharad Pawar, Minister,
Agriculture, Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affair, Government of
India inaugurated the smart card based public distribution system in the
country from Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Project was
launched on pilot basis from Panchkula Distirct of Haryana. Shri Mahendra
Pratap Singh, Cabinet Minister, Pubic Distribution, Govt. of Haryana was
present in Panchkula on this occasion and distributed the smart card to beneficiary
covered under public distribution system.
Shri Sachin Pilot, Minster of State,
Communication & Information Technology, Government of India reviewed various BSNL Projects
through videoconferencing with Chief General Managers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited
from Bihar,Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra and Meghalaya from Electronic Niketan, New Delhi.

Smt Shila Dixit, Chief Minister, Delhi State, Ms.
Mamta Banerjee, Union Minister of Railway, Shri Sachin Pilot, Minister of
State, Communication & IT jointly inaugurated train for demonstration of
Commonwealth Game from Delhi. Web based Videoconferencing Services has
also been demonstrated from various parts of the country.
Shri Naba Kumar Das, Chief Secretary, Assam
attended a review meeting with the District Forest Officers and District
Supply officers of all the 28 districts. Chief Secretary also reviewed the
other officials of all the districts next day.
Hon'ble Chief Justice of Kerala, Justice Jasti
Chelameswar inaugurated the statewide roll out Videoconferencing link
between Courts and Prisons in Kerala at a glittering ceremony
in Central Jail, Trivandrum, On the occasion, District Jude gave remand
extension through videoconferencing. Hon'ble Home Minister of Kerala,
Director General of Police, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Secretary Govt.
of Kerala and several other dignitaries were present on this occasion.

Communication & IT, had a review on "Project Arrow & Mail Network" with the
Chief Post Master Generals of all the 22 circles on Video Conferencing
Network from Dak Bhawan, New Delhi.
Thiru K.S Sripathi, Chief Secretary, Tamilnadu had
a review on Drinking water scarcity with 26 district collectors through videoconferencing. Dr. N. Sundaradevan, Principal Secretary
cum
Commissioner Revenue Administration was also present during the event.
Hon'ble Dr. A. P. J. Abdul
Kalam, Former President of India participated in discussion on "Harvest Energy"
on NIC Video Conferencing Network with the scientists at International Space
Development Conference, Chicago, USA from NIC-HQ, New Delhi.
Chief Minister,
Orissa, Shri Naveen Patnaik, chaired a meting through videoconferencing on
"Rabi Crop
Procurement" with all Collectors and Agriculture officers of the state.
Earlier Chief Minister reviewed the other development schemes with all
district collectors on VC to review NREGS Project on 7th June. Chief
Minister Orissa once again reviewed the power situation of the state with
District collectors and Electricity officers by using NIC infrastructure of
videoconferencing.

Dr. Pitroda and Dr. Chidambaram interacted with the Directors of 15 IITs and
IGCAR Kalapakam. Director General, National Informatics Centre aas
also present with other senior officers of NIC during the meeting.
Shri Sharad Pawar,
Union Minister of Agriculture, addressed farmers through
videoconferencing from Vigyan Bhawan. The award
ceremony was organised by Ministry of Agriculture and on this occasion
farmers were invited in NIC Studios of Madurai, Jodhpur, Dindigul,
Kavaratti and Imphal. Shri K.V. Thomas, Union Minister of State
for Agriculture; Secretary, Agriculture Govt. of India and other senior officers were
also present on this occasion. 
Shri Anup Mukherji,
Chief Secretary, Bihar had two meetings by using videoconferencing
infrastructure of National Informatics Centre, Govt. of India. Chief Secretary interacted with District
Magistrate of all districts of Bihar to review the various schemes and
plans on 23rd February. Chief Secretary had another VC session with NIC
HQ Delhi on GIS on 04th February. Dr. Vandana Sharma, DDG, NIC;
demonstrated the various features of GIS to Chief Secretary, Bihar.

collectors of State in the program “ Prashashan Shahron ke Sang” to
review the plan implementation and problems of cities in the state.

Engineers of all the districts by using Video Conferencing from Jaipur
Shri H.S. Brahma, Secretary (Power) GOI
had review of various schemes with power secretaries of North-Eastern
States by using videoconferencing infrastructure of NIC from Shram Shakti Bhawan,
New Delhi. Special Secretary (Power),
Additional Secretary (Power) Joint Secretary (RE/APDRP), Director
(RE/APDRP), Member (CEA) and senior officers from CPSUs also
participated in the meeting.
MoS, Communication & Information Technology, Govt. of India, Shri Sachin
Pilot, inaugurated four post offices of Jaipur, Rajasthan under
project ARROW using NIC Video Conferencing services. from GPO, Jaipur.
GPO Jaipur, City PO, Jhotwara PO, Vidhyadhar PO and Shayam Nagar PO were
connected with 2 Mbps lease line over NICNET with Broadband network as
alternative network.
Cabinet Secretary, Govt. of India used the 3rd consequent vc session with 13
Chief Secretary of Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Gujrat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra,
Orissa, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep and Puducherry
in the month of January.
Secretary Power, Government of India, Sri. Harishankar Brahma
participated in the review meeting from Shram Shakti Bhawan New Delhi
with Power Secretary of Orissa, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and
Rajasthan using NIC Video Conferencing Network.
Chief Minister, Uttarakhand, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal "Nishak" chaired a VC
session with all District Magistrate of the state to review the progress
in different schemes of State Government & Central Government using
technical infrastructure of NIC Video Conferencing. Commissioners,
Principal Secretaries, District Magistrate & other senior officers were
present during the videoconferencing.
Prime Minister of India, Dr. Man Mohan Singh inaugurated the
Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Institute of Asian Studies (MAKAIAS) through
Video Conferencing from Science City, Kolkata. NIC West Bengal State
Unit & Video Conferencing Division, New Delhi coordinated with Ministry
of Culture & Prime Minister's Office for this event.
Videoconferencing session was hooked for more than an hour. Hon'ble
Governor of West Bengal State and Chief Minister of West Bengal were
present on this occasion.
